Erwin Rommel

Erwin Rommel was also known as Desert Fox because of his skill in desert battles.

One of the capable commanders respected by both enemies and allies (German’s allies).

He was ordered to kill Jewish soldiers and civilians, but he ignored the order.

He committed suicide in order to avoid his family’s persecution. He took Cyanide pill, but disguised as heart attack following a car accident.

He was linked to the conspiracy to assassinate Hitler

- was a general in the United States Army

-Patton led U.S. troops into the Mediterranean theatre with an invasion of Casablanca during the North African Campaign in 1942

- Patton returned to command the Third Army following the Invasion of Normandy in 1944, in the Western European theatre

- Died in a car accident in 1945

- There was a movie made about his life in 1970, called Patton

- He was very preoccupied with his appearance and other people’s perception

Karl Donitz

Rank: Dönitz was a German naval leader and the creator of Germany's World War Two U-boat fleet.

- Dönitz was born in 16 Sept, 1891in Berlin and died in 24 Dec, 1980 Aumühle/ Hamburg
- He replaced Admiral Erich Raeder as commander-in-chief of the German navy, where his loyalty and ability won him Hitler's trust.
- On May 7 1945, Donitz signed the surrender documents of Germany.
